Research Psychoanalyst

SDPC is authorized by the State of California to train qualified persons who are not mental health professionals but have Ph.D.s in fields related to psychoanalysis to become Research Psychoanalysts. These researchers can obtain psychoanalytic training to enable them to apply psychoanalytic concepts to their chosen fields of expertise.

Research Psychoanalyst candidates obtain supervised psychotherapy experience as a prerequisite for performing supervised psychoanalysis as part of SDPC's training program. Upon successful completion of this program, they are eligible to be licensed as Research Psychoanalysts, which includes clinical fee-for-service privileges as an adjunct to their primary academic and research work.
