Creating Your Professional Will

The current health crisis is a shocking reminder that life isn’t always under our control. We know all too well how a person’s life can change in an instant, oftentimes when it is least expected. As private practice clinicians, we are vulnerable to disability, illness, emergencies, and death. Yet, Psychologists are rarely prepared for situations like these. In this course, Rochelle Perper, Ph.D., Founder and Principal Psychologist of Therapy Changes will detail the key elements of a Professional Will and the legal and ethical considerations surrounding this important document. During this course you will have the opportunity to work on your Professional Will using a template provided. At the completion of this course, you will be equipped with the foundation of a practical tool that can be easily implemented into your private practice.

Presenter Information

Dr. Rochelle Perper is an established and well-respected member of the San Diego psychology community, having earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University (CSPP-AIU) in 2008. Dr. Perper is the Founder and Principal Psychologist of Therapy Changes, a multispecialty group psychology practice in San Diego, California. She is an active member of the San Diego Psychological Association (SDPA) and Chair of the SDPA Ethics Committee. Dr. Perper is committed to assisting the professional growth of mental health professionals by providing professional training courses on a variety of topics including law and ethics since 2011. She is an invited speaker to UCSD and USD Student Counseling Services and the San Diego County District Attorney Victim Advocacy program.

 

Dr. Perper specializes the area of complicated grief and is recognized for her compassion and skill helping clients heal from trauma and working with victims of crime. In addition to her work in private practice, Dr. Perper provides consultation and expert testimony and review for forensic cases since 2018.
