SDPC Psychoanalytic Study Group

This study group brings together early career and experienced mental health professionals for in-depth case discussion and peer consultation through a psychoanalytic lens. Led by psychoanalysts Scott Boles, Ph.D., and Silvia Rodriguez, Ph.D., the group is designed to support the integration of psychodynamic theory and clinical practice. Participants present cases and receive feedback in a respectful, collaborative environment that fosters curiosity, openness, and clinical creativity.

The group provides a safe and thoughtful setting for exploring challenging clinical material, identifying therapeutic obstacles, and deepening clinical insight. While occasional psychoanalytic readings may be suggested, the primary focus remains on the clinical material presented by participants.

The aim of the study group is to help participants examine complex therapeutic dynamics, deepen their understanding of the treatment process, and identify factors that may facilitate or impede therapeutic progress.
