Ana Laura Thomat, Ph.D.

Dr. Thomat is a graduate of the two-year Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program at SDPC and has a private practice in the Bankers Hill/Hillcrest area. She specializes in adult individual and couples therapy. Dr. Thomat takes an individualized approach to therapy that is sensitive to cultural backgrounds and the unique struggles of each person. Her theoretical and research background provide a solid foundation of her practice, and she focuses on building the therapeutic relationship taking an active stance in psychotherapy. She has graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and completed her pre-doctoral internship at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, New York. She was a post-doctoral psychological assistant for local psychoanalyst Dr. Daniel Blaess at Metro Psychological.
